Book Brunch

We all like discussing the books we love and we all like friends.  One of the problems we run into as adults is finding new people to discuss our favorite books with, while getting some good suggestions of what to read from them.  Let's face it - it isn't like when we were kids and could just walk up to a person, introduce ourselves, and ask: "Want to be friends?"  Well, we wanted to make things a bit easier.  We wanted a way to socialize as an adult in a relaxed environment.  And that, my friends, is where Book Brunch comes in.

DIY Forever

When was the last time you made something that wasn't your child's school project?  When was the last time you got together with a bunch of friends and friends-to-be to create something and have good time doing so?  If you can't remember the last time you did either of those things, our new crafting/making series, DIY Forever, is for you!

DIY Forever: Stone Photo Tiles

We wanted to do a great gift craft for December.  With all of the gift giving holidays in winter, we thought it would be a great to be able to make something you could give to a friend or family member.  It can be difficult to find a craft that is both easy and not so chincy as to end up in someone's trash bin the moment you aren't looking.  After doing some digging, I stumbled upon photo transfers to stone tiles using pictures produced with a copy machine.  The result is a beautifully weathered picture on a stone tile that can be sealed and used as a coaster or decorative tile.  The craft was easy, fun, and turned out to be a huge hit!  Click "read more" to find out how we did it!

DIY Forever: Coffee Cozies!

You know, the little cardboard sleeves that coffee shops put on their cups so you don't burn your hands while you drink your coffee?  Yeah, those little guys.  Can you imagine the pile of those things one person must have thrown away through one year of get-stuff-done-fuel consumption?  Not to mention how bland they are.  Wouldn't it be better to have one (or two, or three, or seventeen) that you could reuse AND are customized in a way you like?  Well, that was what we thought and why we decided to make Coffee Cozies for our November DIY Forever.  Couldn't make it?  Want to make one now?  Well, “Lay on, Macduff, and damned be him who first cries ‘Hold! enough!'"  The instructions are in the jump!
