DIY Forever: Butterfly Jars

At our last craft event for adults, we made Butterfly Jar lights inspired by the Green Bellevue working to make the library a Monarch Waystation.  This is a relatively easy craft that only takes about 30 minutes to make.  Click "read more" to find out how to make your own!

First things first, you're gonna need some supplies.  Specifically, these supplies:

Glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
craft knife
pencil, pen, or marker
cardboard or hardboard
a jar or glass
LED candle
Spanish moss
fabric butterflies (found in floral departments)
a stick or twig

Pretty much everything on this list you may already have laying around your house.  If not, most of it can be picked up at a dollar store or craft store for very cheap.  Of course, the stick or twig will only cost you a short walk in the outside world.  ;)

Once you have your supplies, just follow these instructions:

Follow the instructions and you should end up with a cute little butterfly lantern!  If you make one, please share your thoughts and pictures in comments or on our Facebook page!  Have fun and stay crafty!
